If you’ve come to the end of your favourite lipstick, don’t throw it away. Use it to make your own lipgloss.
Dig out the remaining lipstick with a knife, add an equal amount of petroleum jelly*, mix together, then cook in the microwave for about 45 seconds or until melted. Mix well then poor into an old lipgloss container.
Or you can make a unique lip colour, like golds and silvers (or turquoise and yellows for fancy dress), using eye shadow. For a really glossy shine, use a glittery eye shadow.
Scrape eye shadow into a small bowl. Make sure it’s a fine powder with no lumps. Add a small amount of petroleum jelly* to the eye shadow, and mix. Add more eye shadow if you want a darker colour.
* If you’re concerned about using petroleum jelly, use a non-petroleum jelly instead. You can find a recipe for making your own here.
