This crochet lace bracelet from Cult of Crochet is super chic. Make one for yourself or a friend.
This crochet technique, termed broomstick lace, gives a delicate lacy effect. It involves two main steps:
- Looping stitches onto a large knitting needle or dowel (traditionally a broomstick – hence the name) to create long, even loops.
- Crocheting those loops together in small groups (often 3, 4, or 5) using your hook, typically with single or double crochet stitches, to form a lacy, open texture.
The finished ‘fabric’ resembles columns of eyelets or fans — very light, airy and slightly stretchy. It’s popular for shawls, scarves and decorative panels, and lends itself nicely to yarn bracelets.
Sadly, this particular pattern by Cult of Crochet is no longer online, but you can find step-by-step instructions for broomstick lace over at Yarnspirations, and video instructions by American Crochet Association.
