How to make edible spoons

Edible spoonsThese edible spoons take finger food to a whole new level. Serve these fanciful morsels at your next dinner party and wow your guests.

You need:

Several slices of white bread (or bread of your choice),
Rolling pin
Small spoon (to act as a stencil)
Sharp knife.

Method:

1. Remove the crusts from the bread then roll each piece with a rolling pin until it’s flattened. This serves two purposes: the bread is pushed a little wider to accommodate the spoon, and the bread has a smoother surface, similar to pastry.

2. Place two flattened pieces of bread together and roll again. They will stick together on their own accord. For a very thin spoon you can use just one piece of bread.

3. Lay your spoon on the bread, with the curved side up, and press it into the bread. Holding the spoon with one hand, use a sharp knife to cut around the shape. You can then slide the flat of the knife beneath the bread and lift (still holding the spoon in place) and the bread spoon will detach.

4. If desired, sprinkle with grated parmesan, herbs or seasoning, then grill bread spoons till lightly toasted. The left-over scrap bread can be made into breadcrumbs.
